Kingsman Prequel Reportedly Eying Brad Pitt and Rachel Weisz

https://screenrant.com/kingsman-prequel-movie-cast-brad-pitt-rachel-weisz/

As Matthew Vaughn prepares to dive back into the Kingsman universe for a prequel film exploring the early days of the mysterious agency, THS reports that the director is eyeing some very big names to take on prominent roles in the new movie. Brad Pitt and Rachel Weisz are reportedly both being sought by Vaughn as he looks to beef up the star power for his shared universe film. Ralph Fiennes and Harris Dickinson were previously reported to be joining the cast as well - the latter in the role of the film's youthful main protagonist, Conrad.

Aren't there 2 Kingsman movies in development? This and a prequel? Maybe this report should be in its own thread, unless the one coming out next year is INDEED the prequel and they just scrapped doing a third installment altogether.

Kingsman: The Great Game is currently without an official release date but is expected to be shot back-to-back with Kingsman 3 (set to begin filming in January). The former has been set by 20th Century Fox for a release date of November 8th, 2019.

To clear up any confusion.

‘Kingsman’ Prequel: Matthew Vaughn Recruits ‘Kick-Ass’ Star Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Baz took to Twitter on Thursday evening to report that Matthew Goode (Watchmen) has joined the cast along with former Bond girl Gemma Arterton, who will be playing someone’s nanny, while Tom Hollander (Bohemian Rhapsody) has been cast in three roles — George V; the Kaiser; and a Russian tsar, all of whom are part of Queen Victoria‘s family tree. Baz also confirmed Collider’s scoop that Rhys Ifans(The Amazing Spider-Man), Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War) and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) were enlisting in the prequel, which will star Harris Dickinson (FX’s Trust) and Ralph Fiennes, as well as Djimon Hounsou and Alison Steadman (Orphan Black).

Aaron Taylor-Johnson's a great character actor that Hollywood keeps trying to pigeon-hole into stoic leading-man roles, where he just flounders. Hope he goes crazier in this, and isn't just dead weight like he was in Avengers/Godzilla.

If Kingsman 2 didn't hit $100m, can't see this doing much more than $70m domestic.
