Ip Man aka one of the best martial arts movies of all-time doesn't qualify :(

By released in the US can it be like a festival?

Like would this movie make it? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1183252/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf

No.

It has to either be released in a theater or on DVD

Really makes it very complicated to keep track. On the letterboxd list above many movies aren't eligible, and then we also have to check 2007, 2006, 2009 lists to see if titles from these years are elligible?

Reread the first post, where I provide a list of films labeled as previous years that would qualify for the list.

It’s not too hard to double check if you’re unsure about whether it qualifies.  It takes 20 seconds to pull it up on IMDB and then just use ctrl-F to find its release date in the US

Ponyo is ineligible.

4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days got a qualifying run in 2007 so I don’t think it counts either.

I'll update my list later on today - perhaps the title should be changed to Top 25 Movies Released in the US in 2008?

It’s your own fault for failing to read the first post that explains all of this

I never said anyone else was to blame other than my own laziness for the errors in my list. I just suggested you clarify the American centrality of the list in the title.

Quick poll on scoring: I had some people in telegram bring up how they thought the 25 film minimum for a list was stupid.  They proposed that I make the minimum top 10 or 15 but have the score values be the same.  Would you guys want 25, 15, or 10 as the minimum?
