I think ig was between that and Tommorowland for BIrd, and he choose Tommorland. He di dnot chose wisely.

Yeah he tried to do both but Tomorrowland’s production overlapped with pre-prod on Star Wars. He tried to make it work by having another filmmaker do pre-prod for him on SW.

 

that other filmmaker was Colin Trevorrow and that got him the gig for Jurassic World.

I'm still confused as to what the connection to Tron is. This has been in development hell since the last one came out, and I guess they finally found a cooperative enough yes man in Rønning to get the ball rolling on it.

 

That they're giving this an off-peak season release date I think is both wise and evidence of where they perceive it to be on the IP totem pole at this point.

Given that, the two protagonist of the last film are missing and this is releasing 15 years after the last one, My guess is that this movie is a soft reboot, with only Jeff Bridges returning as a cameo character, connecting the film to the others.

Disney probably wants a new trilogy and series for Disney plus.

Nah, Disney wants a trailer for the Tron theme park attractions.

Problem iwth your thesis is the Tron films have not been a box office sucess for Disney.

Pretty funny that they got David Fincher crew for this. Will be seated though. NiN scoring makes this twice as exciting as anything else coming from Disney

I wouldn't care too much, given the tweet account that replied that.

Reznor is a proven genius, I'm now excited for this movie.

I hate Leto so maybe the soundtrack can make the pain of watch him tolerable.

I’ve never seen the first two so am not interested at all, but found that tweet funny.

I can´t believe i´m saying this about the Maleficent 2 director ... but the trailer looks great

 

Not only the colors with the grid objects are very popping as expected, but the real world shots are all very tight, elegant and bright. 

 

Sure, i´m not expecting a great script, not even a great movie tbh. But actual stunning gamer imagery with NIN synths banging in the speakers? That´s all i need to be happy.

Looks better than expected but will be the Furiosa of 2025 box office wise. Still funny that Disney saw something in Kosinski before Cruise and Paramount.
