Though technically TFA should get 18 days with its opening thursday counting as a whole day over $10m, Avatar did 3.6m in midnights. A 13% gap is low when the numbers are low but as the numbers get higher, the gap in terms of numbers widen and then a 13% gap stops being “only” a 13% gap. With the numbers that both films are expected to make that 13% gap becomes $5-6M+ if you assume Incredibles 2 makes $46M (that number becomes higher if I2 makes $50M+) so yea the gap is too wide for I2 to overtake JW2 this weekend.
