How the fuck can it be so hard to just dispose of Chucky. He's like 2 feet tall. Just set him on fire, chop him up and then eat the son of a bitch. THE END.

Or blow both of his arms off his stupid little body so he can't use a knife.

Dude, you're asking for logic in a Hollywood production 😂? I just watched John Wick single handedly mow down armies of trained killers, bullets ricocheting all over the place, and not suffer ONE gunshot wound 😂.  The baddies are trained weapons guys, but somehow all 800 of them aren't as good at hitting the target as John Wick is 😂

Lol has a Chucky movie ever been fresh?

Child’s Play

Curse of Chucky

Cult of Chucky

and Child’s Play 2019.

However the dvd sequels only have about 20 reviews.

Seeing it in two hours, I’m excited.

Slasher films are far too rare these days

This was quite good, not great.

Loved the whole idea of the update to the doll, which they should’ve made clearer in the trailers. It explains why a kid that age would want one.

Aubrey was miscast. The voice work could’ve been anyone. The deaths are very convenient but mostly glory.

3/5

Question for people who have seen it:

Spoiler

I don't know if this is correct, but does the doll actually come to life because of a system failure? If so, what's Chucky's new motivation since it can't be Charles Lee Ray trying to become human again.

Spoiler

At the start a disgruntled factory worker disables all of this dolls behaviour, language and violence filters.

But then its more of the doll learning the behaviours. He takes everything Andy says literally such as “I wish he was gone”. He sees the kids getting enjoyment out of watching a violent film etc.

So he’s more a piece of technology that gets slowly corrupted.

This was the most fun I've had in theaters all year. Of course it gets a C+ in Cinemascore and is gonna disappoint at the box office.

Should do well enough to keep the franchise alive in streaming. But not sure if the rebooted continuity will get a sequel.

The second half of this is kind of a disaster. You all could tell it’s been hacked to bits, right?

Just saw it.

Leatherface cameo 😂! The kids are watching what I believe is Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.  The doll learns how to stab and hack here 🙂.

Aubrey Plaza looked more like Andy's sexy older sister, not his mom. Odd casting choice.

Be prepared for some in-your-face SJW pandering...the girl in the gang of kids happens to be the toughest of the group, and dispatches of one of Chucky's drone dolls with ease.

The doll's face looked kinda weird at first, but you get used to it.

Two particular brutal killings, the rest are standard slasher stuff.

Would I put it ahead of the original trilogy? No. Tied with Chucky 3 maybe.

I like how a female character being competent now qualifies as SJW pandering.

(Especially in a movie where Andy's mom is only ever a damsel in distress.)

Andy's mom

strikes the killing blow on Chucky....I would call that a little more than a damsel in distress...."competent" doesnt have to translate to roughing up and intimidating someone who is physically a mismatch for you...

Let's play a little thought game.

Spoiler

If Karen had stabbed Chucky through the heart.

And then Falyn had shot the leaping Chucky out of the air.

And finally, when Chucky was down and barely moving, Andy ripped his head off.

Would that have been okay to you? Or "too SJW"?

As in scenes seem to have been edited/deleted?

Just wondering...any behind-the-scenes stuff/test screening changes you know about this? 🤔
