Almost a 40% increase for JW2!

So Jurassic world is only down 38% from last Tuesday. That's a pretty good number and obviously indicative of Summer weekdays being in full bloom. And it's a 39% increase from Monday.

Hm. That 39% increase made no sense given how the schedule typically behaves. Tag’s muted increase compared to the last two weeks further complicates things.

btw, for anyone who expects this week to set precedent for the next time the Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday, it probably won’t because it’s not happening again until 2029

The tweet is still there though. 

 

JW2 grosses $11.89M according to box office report. 

 

Thats a huge 39% increase and the increase for Ocean’s 8 was pretty big too. I guess it depends on the film and whether it lost screens to The Purge. Tag may have been one of the films to lose screens to The Purge for Tuesday night and thus muting its increase. 

 

Either way the increase for JW2 and Ocean’s 8 is insane especially when you consider how big their Monday’s were.

I don’t see how JW2 misses 400 mil. It would have to really collapse from here on out.

All purge movies have bad reviews, so I don't think they matter.
