Wednesday Numbers from Asagard 2: JW2 11.4, I2 9.4, The Purge 9.2 (we think..cryptic post by AS2)

Mods you can close this thread if you think it has no basis.

@EmpireCity liked my post with the following numbers:

“My final guesses

2.2 UD

2.1 Ocean’s 8

9.2 The Purge

1.2 Tag

11.4 JW2

800 No clue

9.4 I2

2.6 Sicario”

and then liked another of my posts when I said Purge was $9.2M and that Wednesday drops were flat from Tuesday, so I took it as him confirming these are the numbers.

But again please lock it, if you feel like this thread is premature and if it is I apologize in advance.

*Editing it to make it more organized lol

11.4- JW2

9.4- I2

9.2- The Purge

2.6- Sircario

2.2- UD

2.1- O8

1.2- Tag

800- Deadpool 2 (?) *I didn’t have DP2 next to this number when EC liked the post so I’m not sure if it’s indeed for DP2 or not...possibly Sanju but DP2 makes the most sense*

So looks like:

1. Jurassic World 2 — 11.4M (-4%)

2. Incredibles 2 — 9.4M (-8%)

3. The First Purge — 9.2M

4. Sicario — 2.6M (+0%)

5. Uncle Drew — 2.2M (-11%)

6. Ocean’s 8 — 2.1M (+14.5%)

7. Tag — 1.2M (-2%)

8. Deadpool 2 (?) — 800K (+14%)

These numbers make sense to me based on the 2012 weekday pattern. Most films increased on the July 4th Wednesday in 2012, but with much more muted Tuesday increases (or even drops) likely due to 1) discount Tuesday being somewhat less of a thing and 2) The Amazing Spider-Man opening with $35M on the Tuesday.

Peace,

Mike

9.2 feels too high for Purge

Not at all.  My theatre was 75% sold out last night at 10pm and there is no holiday here.

Keep in mind, the 5th of July is going to behave like a typical Wednesday and drops will be in the 25-35% range for many films.

2012 had the 4th on the Wednesday?  Shoot,  I thought the last time was 2007.

JWFK down 7% from last Wednesday.

If it falls 28% today, that gives it 8.2, down 27.5% from last Thursday.  Legs are tremendous at this point.
