I'm actually surprised by JC, after tracking etc I thought it would open in the low 20's but high 20's or even an opening in the 30's is a possibility now.

I was actually expecting the estimates to be like 3-5 million for JC but that's like the losing team making a layup to cut the lead to 48 instead of 50.

3-5m would have been impossible. I mean it looks bad but their 100 million dollar marketing blitz must have gotten some people.

I noticed ALOT more commercials in the past few days.Still, at least Lorax repeats at #1 :DAnd congrats to JC which will help Disney recoup approximately 7% of its total spend for the movie on its OW!

That's where I predicted both films would end up for the weekend. I'm kinda shocked some of you were really expecting $5M for JC. I thought $8M minimum.And can A Thousand Words actually hit $10M? Jeez.

If these numbers hold then all the new releases seem to be exceeding the tracking but it is too early for weekend predictions so we'll see. My guess is that both JC and Lorax will be either very close to 10 million FRI or exceed it.
