Recommended Posts

South America OD:

Argentina: +18% over Dumbo

Bolivia: +38% over Dumbo

Paraguay: - 38% Below Dumbo

Uruguay: 9% over Dumbo

Beauty and the Beast is not even worth comparing to, less than half in all the countries save for Bolivia.

So very meh, should be doing much better.

Dumbo did very good here in Uruguay and Argentina, also this weekend will be very cold, winter is coming lol, and we love going to the cinema in winter.

Yeah, but Dumbo is like the kindest comparison for Aladdin.

In Uruguay and Argentina is just 39% of Beauty and the Beast. It will have a respectable result but it's potential is way higher

This OD in Argentina is kinda low, better than Dumbo which had a strong run but Aladdin will face strong competition during from now on, so it will depend a lot on his WOM. Yet let's I hope it open above 250k adm.

India expecting $2.5-2.75mn OW for Aladdin. Poor result for the potential. $6-8mn final perhaps.

Dumbo $0.75mn OW ($1.8mn final)

BaTB $1.4mn OW (~$4.5mn final)

The Jungle Book $8mn OW ($38mn final)

Seems like $0.6mn opening day. $2.5mn OW.

That's true, it may be the kindest comparison.

But in Uruguay Dumbo is about 57% of BatB in $, and we don't have the currency problems that Argentina thankfully. I think it being more colourful and adding the musical aspect should help appealing a little more people here, that could help legs even with upcoming strong movies, shall see.

Dumbo did $43mn in rest & TJB did around $80mn, I imagine, we can expect $60-65mn approx from Aladdin. $113-118mn weekend or more.

That will give $202-208mn worldwide weekend.

121M from 54 markets including China. What other big markets are left to open? Japan most likely where it should do very well (musical and all). I'm trying to figure out of this is good. Sorry, insane numbers that some recent movies posted are messing up with my perception.

It’s doing great.

$ 400M is a good target, $ 450M could happen depending on legs / Japan

Can you project OS-J and J. 450 is impossible otherwise from 121m OW. There is significant compeition week after week in summer. 2.5x legs is better bet. I would say 400m is best case scenario as it has good WOM looking at internal multis in several markets.
