Looking through those years, this is the first time three movies from the same studio have made the top ten in the same year. Little bit scary, but what can you do. Real impressive numbers regardless.

4/14 Disney MCU movies have made it into the top 10 when released, or a 28.6% hitrate. Should get up to at least 5/16= 31.25% by next June

On a less scary note two of them did poorly overseas compared to their dom.

And counting TLJ, it's four in the past 8 months!

That said, in terms of adjusted dollars, those four Disney releases are at #30, #35, #43 and #53. But as you say those are also real impressive numbers too.

It's hard to crack the adjusted top 10, that hasn't been done since Titanic 20 years ago. TFA just barely missed, it's at #11 about $8m short so a re-release could put it in.

I still think something will go wrong with Aladdin. Just a weird feeling.

Guy Richie is the director and it's in the Disney death slot.  Remember how Solo was a lock to do 350-400mil domestic and 800-900mil worldwide? I sure do.

I mean, we had some people here with inside info who said that Aladdin will probably be kind of a trainwreck. If thats true, then it begs the question if Disney actually wants to make Memorial Day weekend a dumping ground for big-budget flops :qotd:

In all seriousness though, that weekend really isnt bad for films to open. Bruce Almighty, Pirates 3, FF6, X-Men: DOFP all showed that. Like always, it depends on the product, not the date,

tough to interpret without the dailies.  Operation Finale was already projected to jump 7.2% on Sunday which matched what was re-estimated today.  The Debt dropped 1.1% then 18.7% on Monday.  A Walk in the Woods increased 0.4% Sunday and dropped 12.1% Monday.  and Constant Gardener dropped 7.6% and an additional 25.9% Monday.

With Sunday looking at 2.2, Monday should drop under 25% making over 1.5 followed with another 1.0 on Tuesday, 10.53 7-day total.
