Five out of 20 December releases for the Top 20 "Christmas-Setting Only" movies, but some would be considered a reach as "Christmas movies" (maybe there are huge groups of people who get into the holiday spirit by watching Catch Me If You Can, IDK):

November releases seem pretty standard for the Holiday genre and lucrative as well.

GoT S8, while shit in its entirety,proved one thing..that Emilia Clarke is a damn good actress and she deserves all the praise.Dany starting loosing it is even more impressive bit of acting when considering that all Emilia had in front of her was green walls.

yes and it's much tougher to be good when you are given shit than when you are given great material on a plate.

It's because a Christams movie has no legs after Dec 26th, and if they release closer to Christmas not only do they have less time to make their money but they have to go head to head with the big Holiday release films.  They have  much more limited shelf life then most movies.

Which is why somebody who says "Last Christmas should be released close to Christmas" just declares their total ignorance of the realites of box office in November and December.

Studios almost always release their Holiday Themed films in November. There are valid reasons why they do so. And the people who decide release dates are professionals, not some ignorant amateur posting crap on a website.

Emilia Clark is nowhere near being a major draw at the movie box office, much as her fans live in a fantasy land about her being some kind of A list draw.

Except for Home Alone, it played really well after Christmas, but this movie is not getting anywhere near $285 million let alone $610M domestic. Over/under Love Actually? Last Christmas won't have the same built-in audience of Crazy Rich Asians and it will be competing with all the TV/streaming options for Christmas movies (Hallmark really does the 24/7 Christmas programming by Halloween now, there's Lifetime and even Netflix got into the game a couple years ago).

I think putting the trailer in front of Good Boys will prove to be a good decision for Universal. Hopefully the film is good, because we could use more good Romantic Comedies!

Based on what I saw in CRA, Golding is wooden and doesn't have an ounce of charisma. But he is handsome, so that's something. Lol I expect Clarke to shine in this kind of role though, as she was most charming in Me Before You.

I turned it off halfway through cause I was already 😍😍😍😍 and I felt like they were giving away too much plot. Can’t wait. Looks precious.
