Yeah, this is an edgy cult film under that $185M worth of dough. Definitely feels like a film a Tromanian would make.

Kids most likely wouldn't vote on the RT score but do get polled by Cinemascore. Wouldn't affect TSS.

It got A cinemascore from an audience that included 5 year olds. 79% verified score isn't bad for a kids cartoon anyway.
SpiderByte
Cans one. Explain how Free Guy is considered a big success but Suicide Squad a failure?

It shouldn't be called until we see worldwide numbers and the holds in the coming weeks, but the opening exceeded expectations.

I mean it’s still too early cause we have to see more numbers but to begin with their budgets…Suicide Squad has almost double the budget as this which means this won’t have to make as much to earn back the budget. Plus Suicide Squad is backed by the DC brand and this is an original film.
BadOlCatSylvester
46 minutes ago, SpiderByte said: Cans one. Explain how Free Guy is considered a big success but Suicide Squad a failure? Free Guy has an astronomically lower budget (I'm going with $100M for simplicity, vs $185M for TSS), far better word of mouth among general audiences and a 45-day theatrical exclusivity (while TSS is available for free online from day one) which should be enough to help it have the rest of August all to itself. A Cruella-like multiplier brings it past the century mark, which would be a decent feat in this day and age.

There really is no reason to compare the two outside of squinting at day and date considerations.

A 185M DC movie which missed OW expectations hard, where the reception doesn’t quite match pre-release buzz and it will total below the previous movie’s OD? Vs a ~100M movie which is hitting OW expectations with a good chance to leg past 100M? Edited August 14, 2021 by Lokis Legion 1
WittyUsername
This movie is doing good, given the circumstances. Can we leave it at that?

There's no comparisson here
