Is it just me or are they not taking into account that Monday is a holiday (in a lot of parts not all) and thus Sunday drops will be softer? It's not by much but I still think it could have an effect on films especially the openers. In looking at last years box office weekend drops were typically 20-30% on Sunday compared to the 40%+ that Sunday usually gets.

Strong numbers for both openers. Never bet against a comic book movie that's about a popular character. It will open well, it might have shit legs but it will open well. Wish I hadn't lowered my 75mil prediction to 68mil but whatever. Knew those 28mil tracking numbers for A Star is Born were bullshit. They keep under tracking WB's films, I can't wait until the same happens with Aquaman.

Monday is the Canadian Thanksgiving. Plus it's also Columbus Day in the North East USA.

So because of that more people will go to cinemas on sunday instead of monday? shouldn't it be reverse? since monday is free day of work

The drop on Sunday will be softer (lower) than the usual fall season Sunday drops.

Night shows on Sunday will be more filled than usual because people don’t have work the next day.

I am actually shocked at ASIB's numbers. I legit thought the film was cracking $50M during its OW. Its presales were way higher than Ocean's 8 and yet it's probably going to open around the same as that.

*This isn't me saying ASIB is disappointing. It's opening well above its tracking. Just thought that $50M was possible based on presales.

Older women are some of the biggest pre-buyers...and this skewed very old (50+ age range is a huge percent of the 1st day viewers) with very few young buyers (the larger impulse buying group)...
