Matthew McConaughey passed on the Kurt Russell role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 for this. Not such an alright alright alright choice there, Matthew.

He took a risk on something that could turn out good instead of a part he knew was going to be bad, that sounds about right and I don't think he regrets it. A lot of people don't like Marvel, especially creative people.

wow....this really is fant4stic all over again...except we didn't get a whole lot of behind the scenes drama and bashing the director articles/expose. And I doubt we will get a Guinness book worthy quote for the ages!! For that you have to be truly mind fuckingly genius.

only silver lining is that this costed half of that movie.

Wow.. So shall we address the elephant in the room as to the reason WHY this movie is being heavily shit on by the critics??? Perhaps the Casting is a start, not to mention, this Novel is what?? Something like 1200 Pages??? Lot's of luck trying to replicate the success of a Novel that size.. Stephen King Adaptations seem to best work when they're short stories or movies that don't run over 2 hours.. Some of King's Best movie adaptations will always be PET SEMATARY, CHRISTINE, The SHINING, etc... Still hard to believe that Stephen King hated the movie The SHINING forcing him to make that weak ass TV Mini-Series that Dr. Malcolm can best sum up:

Image result for that's 1 big pile of shit gif

There's nothing wrong with the casting. The first book in the series is only a couple hundred pages.

Jesus, considering no one saw this low of an RT score coming, what does this hold in store for "IT" when it comes out, if the critics are going to murder that movie as well like this one???

I think most people had it being really bad on RT and it currently being at 20% is probably in some people's ranges going in.

This movie will have no bearing on IT whatsoever.  IT will get it's own RT score, good or bad, on its own merits.

Why is Richard Roeper's review labeled as fresh on RT when it's 1/4?

When you fill out your review in RT, you have the option of clicking "Fresh" or "Rotten" and putting down the rating of whatever personal scoring system you use in a different field. He probably accidentally clicked "Fresh" instead of "Rotten." Whatever personal scoring system he puts down doesn't have any effect on the Fresh/Rotten designation.

No way is a 1/4 Fresh by anyone's rating standards but it happens.  In this case it's most likely a mistake by the RT staff who enter reviews in for higher profile outlets themselves.  It's mostly the blog and online sites that enter their own reviews.

A Dark Tower TV series could actually be fairly good.  They should scrap relations to this movie and just try to adapt the books on screen, similar to GoT.

Dont let the poor movie make you think King's novels aren't good and worth adapting.
