A couple of those were disasters,  a couple more were before OS numbers jumped off and SS didn't have China.  Not to say CM isn't have a nice run OS but that list isn't great.

Those are the movies that CM passed with just 2 weeks of release. Just wait until it will be 3 or 4 weeks then you can see other big SH movies added on the list.

Its already the 10th highest grossing MCU film in a little over a week, and by the end of the next week will have pass Thor Ragnarok, Spider-Man Homecoming, and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. In just over two weeks of release.

I really hope that Spiderman Far From Home doesn't even touch CM dom, OS and WW. It's great to see less known properties do better than overdone ones.

I disagree.  If Spider-Man is a great movie then I think it deserves whatever it makes. Great movies should be rewarded.

well, SMH wasn't great and FFH looks rancid but maybe it's just crap marketing that hides a great movie somewhere under layers and layers of awfulness?

in your opinion though so whats your reason in the end ? spiderman homecoing was liked from the most of people and far from homes trailer was very well received from the majority i see no reason why far from home shouldnt match or pass captain marvel if its a good movie

I guess you're right and I admit I'm not going to follow that franchise so I'm not well-versed in how FFH trailer was received. it got a lot of thumbs down here and some other forums but I guess that overall views were good and reception better than by small samples that I saw.

There's an I'll say.. good chance at FFH being better received with critics/audiences than CM?  The reviews for CM are middling and the legs on CM are looking ok.

So I think there's a good chance that critics/audiences will like FFH more. Not saying they will but CM hasn't had a glowing response, it's had an ok/good response.

1st place (in $/¥) debut for Captain Marvel in Japan. Here's what corpse said:

Quote

Weekend Estimates (03/16-17)
01 (---) ¥460,000,000 ($4.1 million), 0, ¥665,000,000 ($5.9 million), Captain Marvel (Disney) NEW
02 (01) ¥434,000,000 ($3.9 million), -29%, ¥2,050,000,000 ($18.5 million), Doraemon: Nobita's Chronicle of Moon Exploration (Toho) WK3
03 (---) ¥270,000,000 ($2.4 million), 0, ¥270,000,000 ($2.4 million), Precure Miracle Universe (Toei) NEW

>Captain Marvel likely debuted atop the weekend box-office (it will have to settle for second place in admissions though), but it was quite frontloaded over the weekend and came in below what early ticket sales were suggesting. Still, if it can remain above ¥448.8 million with actuals, it'll achieve the biggest opening weekend for a Marvel/DC film outside of the Avengers and Spider-Man franchises.

As long as it doesn't behave more frontloaded than the average Marvel film, it should finish between the ¥2.5-¥3.0 billion ($22-27 million) range. If it can reach the ¥3 billion milestone, which will be a significant challenge, it would join the original Batman as the only non-Avengers/Spider-Man film to reach that mark.

Also comparisons to every Marvel/DC movie since 1980:

All-in-all looking very good - and very surprising - for Ms. Marvel in Japan.
