Bohemian Rhapsody OS: $684M OS | $900M WW

According to DHD the OS weekend came in at 3.5m. The CBO thread seems to indicate a 1.1m weekend over there. So that means the (OS-China) weekend was 2.4m which is higher than last weekend's (OS-China) figure.   :what:

It increased about 15% in Japan this weekend.

BOM says it's at 899.5M atm. it should be soon.

Domestic:  $216,141,246    24.0%
Foreign:  $683,369,696    76.0%

is this the cheapest movie that crossed 800M and 900M WW ever?

https://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=wolfwarrior2.htm

Production Budget: $30.1 million

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:  $2,721,100    0.3%
Foreign:  $867,604,339    99.7%

Worldwide:  $870,325,439

I imagine

cheapest 700m, ET

cheapest 800m, Wolf warrior 2

cheapest 900M will be this one

cheapest 1000m Jurassic Park

Best I could find is ET at ~$10.5m budget but only made 793m WW.

Otherwise it is Lion King at 79m budget.

The wildcard is Wolf Warriors 2, no idea on budget but made ~850m WW

EDIT: Barnack found a budget, WW2 trumps BR for 800m

Oh wow, thanks for the data @Barnack and @Feasby0007

so once BR crosses 900M it's gonna be the cheapest 900M, no small feat! :bop:

The fact that it's the cheapest is not the impressive feat though... A biopic of a musical act made 900 MILLION DOLLARS that alone is just mind-boggling (even though I predicted its possibility a couple months ago :P )

Truly the closest performance to Titanic we've had since Avatar!

agreed. there are so many reasons to be impressed by BR boxoffice and budget is the least of all.

In a massive shock turn of events in Japan, Bohemian Rhapsody is back in the top 10. Yesterday it was 8th, today it was 6th!

A huge 47% increase from last week when everything else is roughly 20-40% down.

Can it actually manage another top 10 this weekend?
