Deadline is reporting weekend numbers of $178K for Mary Queen of Scots ($44,500 PTA), $114K for Vox Lux ($19K PTA), and $83K for Ben is Back ($20,750 PTA). Solid for Mary but with only decent reviews and zero awards prospects aside from possible tech noms it’s probably not gonna go too far. The other two are looking to be nonstarters, which was expected for Vox Lux (given what a tough sell it is) but too bad for Ben is Back (which probably should’ve been a wide release out the gate).

The race at the top is totally not a surprise - The Star came in for a 9% drop this weekend last year...I'd look for The Grinch to pass Ralph the next 2 weekends...and then to drop behind it rapidly on the Dec 28 weekend... (really on Dec 26th weekdays onward).  Look for Ralph to get 1/2 screened while the Grinch keeps a full one on Dec 21 at smaller theaters...and then for theaters to switch that set on Dec 25:)...

Yeah, Ralph is going to get split screened at midsize theaters. Hypothetical 12plex:

Aquaman x2

Mary Poppins x2

Bumblebee

Spider-Verse

Marwen

Second Act

The Mule

Mortal Engines

The Grinch

Ralph/Creed

Once Holmes and Watson opens, the Ralph/Creed screen will go. If Vice is going wide enough to hid 10-12 screen theaters, The Grinch probably goes split screen with Mortal Engines.
