it would be really stupid just yesterday they released the no way home trailer and at the same time they have time why not wait for shang chi to see how this will perform ?

The Corona situation will only get worse. The experts said it will peak in October and who know if they are right....could be November...

Weekly case growth has slowed (cases obviously still tragically massive) and both optimistic and pessimistic epidemiologist believe it will start to fully crest by the last couple of weeks of September. Not that there still won't be a terrible ton of COVID around, but I haven't seen much empirical evidence that this will be worse in November.

The source is not reliable

From IGN:

Quote

Multiple sources say that Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage could be delayed to January 21, 2022.

According to Variety, several inside sources have revealed that the much-delayed, highly-anticipated Venom sequel will leave 2021 entirely, even as studios wrestle with putting movies exclusively in theaters. Variety says this is likely, but given the uncertainties around COVID-19 things are still up in the air.

I tend to think Variety is reliable (if not infallible).

EDIT:::

Though that's linking to a Vulture report,  Lol IGN spellcheck, but I still think it's reliable enough.

studios should make decisions based on data and right now there is no data at all we dont know how covid will be in the next weeks and at the same time we dont know how well the upcoming release dates will do...for now  box office is in a very decent imo  the holdover hols very very well both in terms of dailies and ow ..so for sony to now announce a delay after having release the NWH trailer and after already have delay the movie 10 days ago..its incredibly idiotic imo.

Was thinking the exact same thing, personally.  Maybe not "nothing" to do with the 'rona, but maybe not that much.
