Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 | July 12 2023 | 99% on Rotten Tomatoes! | 290M budget so far, Cruise holding Paramount hostage for more money

Don't know how legit it is but these are comments from the OP:

It was Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One. They called it a work in progress but honestly aside from a few green screen touch ups and some wire removal it looked pretty finished to me.

Out of respect to the filmmakers I won’t spoil anything.

I will say I loved it. Three hours long and never felt boring. Twisty plot, great acting, amazing stunt work, beautiful locations. Ends on a perfect cliffhanger.

3 hours seems ridiculous for a “Part 1”

title. Yes, I know Cruise has tons of momentum right now (and this franchise has kept momentum for years now), but they really really need to change that title.

Do not market a “part 1” and then also ask people to swallow a 3hr runtime, it’s gonna cut box office.

Don't think it really matters much. If it's good, people will show up. There is still a chance they cut a decent portion out of the movie. McQ and team are very cognizant of pacing and how an audience engages with a film. They cut a lot more out of Fallout at the end than you'd think.

This run time convo is pointless and boring. There is no clear data suggesting that a great adult film would suffer because of its run time. Didn't bother TITANIC, AVATAR, LOTR, list goes on. At the end of the day what matters if the film is any good.

Ok, i don't want it to flop anymore. lol I want it to be a big hit, but am i the only one who thinks it should move to July 28 and Par should reschedule Ninja Turtles to another date. This end of July date worked so great for Fallout.

The runtime is fine if they nix “part 1.” It has a very statistically proven box office stigma and is why studios stopped using it. Add 3hrs into the mix and it will surely alienate some casual viewers who will think “I don’t want to commit 6 hours to this story, etc”

Not sure I'm buying that. I think his status in Hollywood improved immensely after TGM and they way that lit the box office on fire last summer. Cruise simply enjoys doing these crazy stunts. He should keep doing it as long as th quality is there. It's not like he is only doing tentpoles. AMERICAN MADE was fun ride, too. I'm sure he will suit up again as LES GROSSMAN some point in the future. Same with a more dramatic role if he finds a project interesting. He likes to work with great directors.

It's been two that have been released but yes, we are nearing 4 having been filmed.
