Best Supporting Actress. Let’s go.

FYC Best Supporting Actress as well. The only nomination that's gonna matter to me. Peace!

*I'll do others later but for right now this one is most important.

The Best Box Office Run is in general right? Or Can it be x movie in x country?

You’d just list the movie, but for example Chinese movies with massive China runs have been nominated before.  You don’t need to list the country, just the movie (though you’re more than welcome to vote for a movie because of a strong performance within a certain country)

Just to clarify:

Does the Voice Performance category include Motion Capture performances?

Going to talk through this.  Initially I’d say no, but a good point is raised that some form of MoCap is often used even in animations.  So it’s hard to justify what’s truly a MoCap performance and a voice one.  For simplicity sake, it may be easier to lump those together.

they're all leads. stone and weisz have the major arcs (plus stone has the most screentime of the 3 but they're all within ten minutes of each other) and colman drives the plot. if any of these three characters were male nobody would have any problem saying they're all leads. they just can't accept the idea of a movie with three leads of the same gender, or maybe they just think that way to make some category space, which i get.

but i think people should just do whatever the hell they want with them, vote splitting be damned.

They’re all leads, I personally just split them up for convenience on my part.

I said that from the moment I watched it lol You can possibly make an argument for Weisz or Coleman being supporting given the amount of screen time they both have (roughly 45ish minutes) but Stone has 56 minutes of screen time. No way no how is she supporting. Ironically, I think had they put Coleman in supporting, shed actually have much better shot of winning best supporting actress versus her trying to win best actress. But I'm guessing the studio wanted all three top get nominated so they decided to go by way of category fraud.

I'll have more FYCs later but my deep cut for the year is John Cho for Best Actor in Searching and Searching itself for Best Picture. I was super busy around the time I saw it so I never got to say how much I thought that movie rocked. Also, people need to check out Beale Street, Leave No Trace, and Can You Ever Forgive Me if they haven't yet - they'll be showing up all over mine and I hope they get a fair shake.

Can You Ever Forgive Me? would definitely make the Overlooked Movie category if it wasn’t set at $5M (the only movie’s I’ve seen from this year so far that qualify for there are Thoroughbreds and Ben is Back, both also movies that should’ve received more attention than they did FYI). Shame hardly anyone saw it at all, not just here. McCarthy and Grant will definitely be making my ballot.

I'm gonna go ahead and post a bunch of a bunch of FYC's; basically, I'll be limiting it to things that I'm actually planning to vote for, and I'll be listing each film and along with the categories I'm advocating them for.

If a major awards contender is not on my list, it's likely because I haven't seen it.

I do apologize if I'm overdoing it.
