That is totally how I felt about yours!  I laughed the couple times were we had “same musical, different song”. I was like, that **is*** the better choice, but I went with the more popular/known song (aka Cabaret Over Tomorrow Belongs To Me).

Same. Some musicals are just perfect from start to finish (Sound of Music, Music Man, Beauty and The Beast) and I could have put the whole soundtrack on. 

 

Which is why in the end I gave up and was like: 13 Alan Menken songs on a list of 100? Toooootally reasonable. 😂😂

 

It was also how I ended up with like You Gotta Have A Gimmick instead of Rose’s Turn.  I was trying to be good and go for the most memorable from the movie version,not just the best song from the musical.

Same. Some musicals are just perfect from start to finish (Sound of Music, Music Man, Beauty and The Beast) and I could have put the whole soundtrack on. 

 

Which is why in the end I gave up and was like: 13 Alan Menken songs on a list of 100? Toooootally reasonable. 😂😂

 

It was also how I ended up with like You Gotta Have A Gimmick instead of Rose’s Turn.  I was trying to be good and go for the most memorable from the movie version,not just the best song from the musical. 

 

 

I was thisclose to putting You Gotta Have A Gimmick on my list.  It is the most memorable song in the movie as performed. 

 

As with Kiss Me Kate - my favorite song is So In Love but it's not as impactful staging and I adore Why Can't You Behave, Always True To our In My Fashion & Too Darn Hot but Brush Up On Your Shakespeare is the one I think of first (along with the much lesser I Hate Men) when I think of the musical.
