Completely wild, off-the-top-of-the-head guess would be something like 7-8 million.

There's also a great chance that Glass is beaten enough by Super Bowl Sunday that it fails to stay over 10 million this weekend, and that's the only movie that even has a chance to do that.

Jesus Christ.

It can still hit 10M. Movies targeting Hispanic audiences don't tend to be that front loaded.

What Men Want: 1:48. Pet Sematary and Rocketman

The Prodigy: 1:26. Child's Play (debut trailer) and Fighting with my Family

Seems like a $7M opening is in the cards as expected. Meh.

Uh oh.

I’m curious. But horror twitter is going to melt.

I think MISS BALA still has a chance at $10M. WINCHESTER did $615K in previews and hit $9M+ and horrors are more frontloaded.

Who here thinks GLASS can stay over $10M?

Some see the Kevin Hart-Bryan Cranston-Nicole Kidman feel-good movie potentially gaining on Glass is this languid Super Bowl box office period. Right now, averages see Universal’s M. Night Shyamalan movie at $8.7M for the weekend ahead of Upside‘s $8M. It’s still early, and folks will make their way to the movies tomorrow before the Big Game. They won’t be turning out in huge numbers as most of the majors decided to sit out this weekend.

Glass looks to take $2.6M today, followed by Sony’s Miss Bala with $2.57M, and The Upside with $2.4M. The latter STXfilms/Lantern release will fly past $74M by Sunday.

Sony’s Miss Bala, which is estimated to have a production cost of $15M before P&A, isn’t doing well with an estimated 3-day of $6.5M

This is the first weekend since Labor Day 2015 that the #1 movie made sub-$10M. That's embarrassing.

They Shall Not Grow Old is doing well on MovieTickets. Maybe it could surprise 🤔

Not even mentioning They Shall Not Grow Old...at under $9M for the top movie, it could (even in under 1000 theaters) pull off the upset...
