If the Upside can continue these holds, it may even challenge Glass for top January film this year. What a turn of events from last year, when Glass was expected to easily dominate January.

Hmm, yeah, both look headed to ~110 in my book. Not sure which way I’d bet at this point.

We like our animations like real animations. Not these trashy gimmicks inserted by Lord Miller. This is why LEGO and Spider-Verse will always underperform/bomb OS. Always. We like the real deal, not some crappy looking shit that hurts the eyes.

Lord Miller doing animations is a MISTAKE.

What bullshit is this?

Fuck off with your ill-informed opinions.

Kinda laughing right now at all those wokie Film Twitter losers who said, in arguing that a disabled actor should've played Cranston's role and that anybody other than Hart should've played opposite, that the two of them would make no difference when it comes to box office.

Clunky animation technique? Wut? You sound like the critic who said Spider-verse has sloppy animation.

is it not "clunky"? its specifically designed to look more like stop-motion rather than look like smoothed CGI. that's why certain parts have lower framerate / fewer frames and it less motion blur/smoothing.

the lego movies are quite clearly very different from other CG animations - the CGI is designed to look photorealistic. it is completely different from Disney movies that have no grounding in the real world, and its clear which audiences prefer.

the first lego movie was a novelty hit, sadly it will not reach heights like that again.

Bohemian Rhapsody has a shot at knocking Solo out of the Top 10 domestic for 2018:

https://www.the-numbers.com/movies/custom-comparisons-extended/Solo-A-Star-Wars-Story/Bohemian-Rhapsody-(2018)/Star-is-Born-A-(2018)

That happening would reduce Disney down another movie for 2018 from 5 to 4.
