We don't know for sure about Star Wars. Lucasfilm hasn't announced their slate yet. It could be that they have something planned for December 2022 but WB beat them to the punch.

2021 is Avatar3. Would have been fine to release then IMO. Sherlock and Alvin did 425+ combined against Avatar. Jumanji did 400+ alone against TLJ. We don't even know Avatar2's (2020) reception yet, so would have preferred 2021 Dec release date.

An untitled Disney live-action movie is coming out on the same day as Aquaman 2. And all the signs point to the first Benioff and Weiss movie coming out on that day. 3 years after Game of Thrones, the dudes already mentioned that this will be their first project after the final season airs, etc.

I will continue to support DC. I love the cast. And I hope I enjoy the sequel better.

But to be fair I only saw Aquaman once, I could enjoy it more the second time.

Avatar 2 receptions will be incredible and will make more than the first Avatar.
