Doubt the non saga SW film can reach a billion

I’m not a huge Star Wars guy so I don’t know all that much that. I see all the movies but don’t know tons about non saga stuff. I don’t think Aquaman needs to move but I guess we’ll see what WB and Wan think.

Aquaman should stick to that December holiday it did wonders for its run and the Jumanji sequel coming around VIII should prove this even more

Jason Momoa Has Been Working With Aquaman 2 Writer, Says Story Is Locked

https://screenrant.com/aquaman-2-jason-momoa-story-details/

Quote

"I was really, really, really passionate to do the second one because it's the first time where it's all on Earth," Momoa teased while on Ellen. "It's combining land and sea, kind of like what I'm doing with this [environmental cause]. There's no outside aliens destroying Earth, it's us." While the first film included some implications that humanity - Atlantean or Earthling - was its own worst enemy, it would certainly be interesting to see the sequel expand on that topic.

Momoa was eager to let everyone know that the ball was rolling on DC's upcoming project, so he added, "I was excited to get back in there, and so I've been working with our previous writer, and getting in there, and we've got a locked story, and we're getting into it." Given his level of enthusiasm for the next film, it's safe to say that some of the ideas he pitched back in October of 2018 made it into the script.

Glad to hear Momoa is helping with the script. I'm sure it will be much more interesting than the first film.

I already found the first one to be interesting though.

Also, on another point from this page of the thread, I feel any new SW project not tied to the original saga is going to have to prove itself as well. SW has literally been just about those characters from Rogue One to Solo.

SW, unlike the MCU, has not tested itself with the vast characters and worlds it could explore as yet so we don't know how the audience will really react. Could be with overwhelming excitement. Might be a collective *sigh*.

It still seems very likely but I wouldn't say it is 100% confirmed yet. Hopefully it will happen.

There were also reports this week claiming that Wan would direct a TV reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer before Aquaman 2 but it was fake news.
