According to Daniel RPK, Aquaman 2 will have the biggest budget for a DC film in history.

Makes sense after how big the first one was, it’s probably the only dc movie sequel that can grow in China cause of the first.

They should move this up to October if they want to repeat the success of the first film. I don't see this coming anywhere close to the success of the first film if it releases on the same weekend or any time after Avatar 2 (espescially because Avatar 2 will likely have better underwater visuals this).

Avatar 2 will have better visuals and more than any tentpole I suspect. Aquamans visuals were amazing for a super hero film..Had the crowd big time. They will proably wait and try to figure out how to get it out in theaters and the masses in a big way. Wonder woman2 should have had a better story and held for a better launch period. To me it was a letdown from the first in quality and scale big time. But it had its moments. Hopefully Aquaman will soar as high or better in this giant sequel all.

According to DanielRPK in his Patreon, DC is looking for actresses to play Hila (Mera's sister), Dolphin, Tula and Deep Blue. Hila will be the villain alongside with Black Manta.

Wan is set to adapt 'Aquawar' from Brightest Day #19 so Aqualad will possibly be in this too.

He also said that the filming starts in July.

Filming date seems right cause Mamoa is filming season 3 of see in late April I believe.

We can also report that the Aquaman sequel’s current working production title is ‘Necrus’. Usually these titles mean nothing. For example, how Infinity War worked under the working title of ‘Mary Lou.’ But after doing some research into the term, it brings up some old Aquaman lore.

Necrus is the name of another underwater city. Unlike Atlantis, it has a more unstable status in the ocean – it only exists for very brief intervals of time and can never be found in the same location twice. Necrus’ existence comes from an alien satellite that periodically enters Earth’s orbit, as it moves through the galaxy. The city has previously went to war with Atlantis in the comics.
