Weekend thread mostly opened after preview numbers. Only for event, they open earlier. Solo being a exception.

Shoudnt Pika-Pikas Weekend thread be open already, given its obvious that it will dethrone Avatar? There wont be a bigger event movie in the next 1000 years than Pika-Pika after all.

Let other movies have their moment. Pikachu don't need it.

Avatar has shit its blue pants so often in fear of this movie that they became brown.

So Avatar should have worn it’s brown pants, is what you’re saying

Quote

Lionsgate’s final installment of the Madea series, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral earned a series record of $1.1M last night from previews. The comedy’s pre-weekend projections are between $17M-$21M.

That preview night cash from 2,100 venues is higher than $855K earned by Boo! A Madea Halloween and a notch higher than Perry’s Paramount thriller last fall Acrimony which made $1M.

However, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World per industry estimates is expected to ring up around $35M or more in its second weekend, -36% for the No. 1 win. The threequel led all films yesterday with $2M ending its first week at $65.1M with a running total that includes previews of $67.6M.

Would have definetly worked for a while. Come May, it will be useless though, since by then Avatar will have shit its pants so often in fear of Pika-Pika that its pants finally exploded from the pressure.

It will be a mess.

If it follows Acrimony:

1.1M

8M w/ previews

6.7M

4.1M

18.8M Total

If it follows Boo 2!

1.1M

10.8M w/ previews

12.8M

7.1M

30.7M Total

If it follows Boo 1!

1.1M

12.2M

15.1M

9.4M

36.7M Total

Feel like somewhere between both Boo movies is about right. Its finale factor will both drive interest and cause a touch more frontloading.
