Stop paying attention to that highest pre-sales marketing bullshit. The opening weekend will be outstanding but it was never headed for a 250mil opening weekend.

Could count WW gross no?  It’s headed to 250m WW for the 4 day I thought.

It doesn’t have to be a complete stinker. Disney animation folded up in the 90s starting with films that were well recieved by critics and audiences but audiences stopped coming after Hercules. They peaked with The Lion King and everyone went to the next expecting the same level of quality. It wasn’t. Everyone thought Disney animation was unstoppable at the time.

No cinematic universe lasts forever, and CM may be Marvel’s first misstep, as impossible as that might sound right now.

Remember, even Star Wars died. If Endgame doesn’t raise the bar beyond IW, it truly is... Marvel’s Endgame. Or maybe Pikachu lands the killing blow... or hell even Avatar 2 and 3 could show audiences what they’re missing. 😉

Captain Marvel was a mis-step? LOL! Whatever.

Anyway, just got back from it. Loved the hell out of it! Both me and the gf absolutely fell for the character. There's probably only one character in the MCU who is more badass and that's Thanos. I mean, I'm going to go see it again on Sunday for the binary scenes alone.

Mid-credits scene was also, needless to say, awesome!

:hahaha:

Solo was a huge flop and we are unsure if IX will cross $1B. The movies aren’t cheap to make or market. Toy sales are in the tank. Sure it can be revived by an excellent Episode IX but TLJ didn’t exactly throw an easy base hit, Abrams has to do the best work of his life and Lucasfilm is just a mess.

So is the End Game trailer featuring Captain Marvel coming out next week? Or are they waiting for ticket on sale date further away from CM?

I still think it'll be April 2nd.

No one is saying that, but you certainly picked an odd one to take this stance on

I was only responding to the person who thought it took a complete stinker to break an audiences trust.

I would think the latter is the way they are going at this point in time.

Sometimes a post is left revealed sometimes it is hidden. Take the hint that if a post is left revealed and subsequent posts heading down the same garden path are hidden then it might be time to take a walk down an actual garden path.

Was there a certain Friday projection that I missed? Because a lot of people are suggesting that Captain Marvel hasn't done as well as a lot of people have suggested it to be.

Going to follow NIRD at the above post but to say Disney Animation died in the 90s is so damn untrue when we're getting Frozen 2 this year lmao.

They closed up shop for a while, just because they can resurrect later inside a company with massive non-movie revenue doesn’t mean the studio survived in any meaningful sense, most people were laid off.

I know, eh? 63-65 is a great number! It means a $42.3M - $44.3M true Friday, which should lead to about a $55M - $57M Saturday.
