I stand by my projection (that I made before EG trailer yesterday) that CM drop will be under 50% with 52% tops in the worst case scenario.

I despise the trailer for Wonder Park so much.

Aaww. 🥺

But clearly a bad trailer...must mean it results to a...bad movie, right? 🤔

$715K for Five Feet Apart (unknown if that includes the Wednesday shows) and $300K for Captive State.

Deadline updated further

Quote

Focus Features has the Participant/DreamWorks/Amblin sci-fi pic Captive State at 2,500 locations. Previews began at 7 PM last night with $300K, with earlier-week projections at $4M over three days for this $25M feature production from director Rupert Wyatt.

CBS Films/Lionsgate has the romance movie Five Feet Apart, about a pair of teenagers with life-threatening illnesses who meet in a hospital and fall in love. Last night brought in $715K. The pic cost  $7M before P&A and tracking has the movie between $8M-$10M, but Captain Marvel could steal cash away for a result that’s more in line of $6M-$9M at 2,803 theaters.

Greta did $350K for previews, so Captive State should open in the ballpark of that movie.

Love, Simon meanwhile did $850K, so FFA reaching double digits will be tricky.

So probably 15-16 for Wonder Part, 8-9 for Five Feet, and 4M for Captive State

Bleh, bring on US

I expect a 3.85x internal multiple for 2nd weekend, so that gives $73-75mn.

I will be happy with $71mn, that will make it almost certain to cross Wonder Woman.

That would be a pretty underwhelming Fri to Thur increase. Let’s see how things go in a couple hours.

What kind of weekend does that likely point to? $70M+?

Using 19m flat, if it follows IW on Saturday and Sunday - 69m. If it follows BP, 74m.

So probably like 72m or thereabout.

I'm just glad that Haley Lu Richardson's getting nice ink for it even though the rest of the movie looks like blah. Waiting for her to get a major breakthrough.
