Weekend Thread (3/15-3/17): Captain Marvel 68, Wonder Park 15.8, Five Feet Apart 13.2, Dragon 9.3, Madea 7.8

Recommended Posts

I was expecting 30 million however it making 28 million on Saturday is okay and might be enough to get to 68 million. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 made 27 Million on its second Saturday. Can it increase? I hope 28 million is locked at the very least.

we will have two ladies as leads in the top superhero solo films.

that is all that's important

I don't care for which is on what position, I care for 'finally' getting (again) successful female lead CBMs or similar, but this time with family appropriate material. Now a generation can grew up, where females are equal good fighters and so on. Maybe some more will get another kind of mindset (I mean the split, there are already a lot of men that do not follow the antis, are what I call normal)

All holdovers lost screens. Jump in same playing theatres was 100% plus as the norm.

It's way too early to tell what the final Saturday estimate will be. Movie theaters are just now opening on the east coast, and outside fandango and other online ticket sales, we don't have the walk ups grosses yet.

My guess right now is that this will go a little over Wonder Woman and we will have two ladies as leads in the top superhero solo films.

Black Panther still says hi.

I think superhero fatigue will come earlier than madea fatigue! This series is so resilience to fatigue!

This is the last Madea movie! Tyler Perry won't be making anymore after this!

This whole run is affected somewhat by End Game.  It had a clear tie in.  Anyone saying this has zero to do with End Game isn't paying attention to the surveys where most people said they are seeing it because of End Game.  That's not to throw water on the parade because it would have done well on its own regardless.

But BP was in my POV more an intro to Wakanda than an intro to BP, who we met in CA:CW first = not meant in any way negativly to the lead.

BP the movie is also about a lot of very impressive and very memoable female characters
