Make Em Laugh - Singing in the Rain

Donald O'Connor owns of course but the number(s) the song was ripped off from deserve more attention/love. (As does The Pirate in general. Best American musical comedy I've seen) Also Nicholas Brothers god DAMN.

@Water Bottle, are people allowed to have wrong opinions here concerning which song is the better song from Back to the Future.

We'll soon have this cleared up.

You a mod. I trust you to make the right decision.

Summer Nights - Grease

The final crescendo of the clubbing mainstay known as the Grease Megamix, Summer Nights tells the sad story of a teen that starts to drown due to a bout of cramp. A passing guy sees her and jumps in, but due to her panic, she ended up dragging him under the water with her. This song then takes places in a limbo-like fantasy where both teens are unaware of their own demise. Instead of trying to find a way into the afterlife, both lost souls continue to wander this lyrical limbo, unable to find peace, and unable to be seen by anyone other than Haley Joel Osmond.

Ol, Man River - Show Boat

I assumed that this film was a Cristiano Ronaldo biography, but apparently not. I took a guess that all the votes were for this version and not the 1936 version. But just in case, here is that version too:

Regardless of the version, this is a song from the golden age of musicals that some will decry is far too low, and others will maybe not even have heard of. You all know which side of this coin you fall on.

Never Enough - Greatest Showman

And now we move onto the most fantabulous musical that ever musicaled. In the wild and wacky story of how Hugh Jackman bought a circus in order to one up Matt Damon and his mere zoo, the Greatest Showman bursts into the list with perhaps the least Hugh Jackmany of all the Showman songs.

Still, it is a lovely little ditty that can inspire even the most socially awkward to almost but not quite hold hands with that girl what they like. And there is no greater romance than that my friends.

May It Be - Fellowship of the Ring

I think Enya was probably designed in a lab purely to one day be a soundtrack for stories about hobbitses. She was made for this kind of music and it does fit the theme very very well. For me personally, nothing in the LOTR soundtrack was anything to write home about on its own merit, but if bigger fans of the franchise feel like it added to the overall auditory experience, then that is possibly my loss.

May It Be almost made my Top 25 list as it was in the last group I cut to reach 25. While not an unforgettable song, it perfectly captured the mood of FOTR when it played over the end credits after the characters had scattered. Also, it is one of the rare movie songs which seems like a piece of the score with lyrics added to the music. It is a beautiful song and I am glad it made the list.

I’m so happy May It Be made it into the top 100. It was in my top 5.

It’s a beautiful song made even better by the mesmerizing voice of Enya. Lotr is my favourite movie series and this song so perfectly encapsulates the movie.

Listen - Dreamgirls

And we have a song from the film that secured Norbit the Golden Raspberry Award... or I may have got that confused. Dreamgirls is a film that I have somehow seen so little of, I cannot even try and make a silly jokey reference.

as an aside, and I'm telling you I'm not going finished in 191st and one night only finished up in 662nd. So this may be the only Dreamgirls song that made the list and our first film is the first film to break 100 points.

I Just Can't Wait to be King - The Lion King

A few months before John Oliver puts his unique stamp on this Rowan Atkinson classic, We have our first (and only???) song from Disney's The Lion King to give us our 2nd Disney animation song of the list to date.

If the remake is in fact a Beaty and the Beast almost shot for shot type affair, then this will likely be the weirdest and most difficult dance number to pull off in 'Live Action'. I look forward to seeing 12 hippos balancing on a single hornbill.

Another Day in the Sun - La La Land

Ah that part of La La Land, when it was still a good fun film. This shot for shot retelling of how traffic jams are dealt with in California, is an enjoyable song that really builds up your belief that this film is going to be great. And for the subsequent 40 minutes, it really lives up to that promise.

Seven songs in total were voted for from La La Land, and four of those scored more than 50 points. However, did any of them score more than 101? Time will tell.

82nd place: 102 points (6 votes)

Old Time Rock and Roll - ALF - The Television Series

The Best American Sit com from the 80s bar none makes a shock appearance on this list that was supposedly only for film songs, but the crowd wants what it wants. And hey, if you can think of a better lip synced version of Old Time Rock and Roll I'd like to hear it.

...What's that? Not Alf? But I thought we were finally bringing him back into the spotlight. No? That's just me? Fine! Tom Cruise it is then:

A shiny penny to anyone that can recall anything from this film other than the above routine :)

You've Lost that loving feeling from Top Gun sadly received zero votes.

Springtime for Hitler - The Producers

This is a song, that I am very happy to see make the list as its a silly fun song that also works within the musical as a shocking wtf of a jingle that fails to fail and thus in its success is a failure.

The Producers is not the only Mel Brooks affair to receive votes, but did anything surpass this performance. The answer is of course... possibly.

Can You Feel the Love Tonight - The Lion King

And the all time Classic Musical: Popstar is no longer the only multiple entry film on our list as the Lion King scores its second number on this list in the space of 5 places.

It is probably my personal second favourite song from the film but as my favourite song (Be Prepared) could only stumble drunkardly into 314th, this will have to do as its surrogate.

It is also the sexiest song on our list so far as it contains the closest thing you'll ever get to lion porn in mainstream cinema, as well as the closest thing to Mathew Broderick Porn.

That like's for the song not for the take.
