And the social media crackdown probably advertised the movie for free better than anything else could...Twitter dropping the movie and then the movie's followers 3 separate times let the movie feel "forbidden" and then something that "had" to be seen vs "something nice to have made" for the fan base.  It also let the movie stay in the "internet" news for almost a week, even for those who don't use twitter or follow politicians (aka, the movie found more of its base audience without spending a penny itself)...finding their audience is probably the toughest job documentaries and "faux"cumentaries have - and this time, it was done completely for them...

 

As I always say, if you want to spike demand for a product, forbid it - you'll never get more of an instant impulse to then have it:)...
