It also cost 40-50 million less. Lets break some numbers down. Ant-Man cost $130 million. Shazam cost $80-90 million.

Ant-Man OS numbers minus China is 234 million. Shazam will finish on this less or take.

Yeah with a lower budget Shazam is Ant-Man numbers.

More like $32m less.   Even if were $50m which it's highly doubtful (those 4 weeks of re-shoots weren't for free) that doesn't make up for $150m less WW revenue theatrical & the correspondent ancillary.

No, Divergent made $288m WW, Shazam will make at least $100m more than that.

No guarantee it makes 388. Numbers are likely to fall off a cliff after end game. It will definitely make 60+ more but similar DOM. Could be 348 we shall see.

388 is a fever dream.

I am absolutedly not into the guessing game, but when new members get something like that to read in this very thread, maybe a bit more explaining added?

$35.9M intl wknd for pushing intl cume up to $163.9M and global tally to $258.8M. Has a shot at finishing its worldwide run at $400M, around 4x its production cost.

No.  There will be about a $60m dollar difference in China but around $150m less WW.

No,  WW difference will not be $150m, more likely to be around $120m.

And Ant man has bigger budget,  likely higher marketing costs, and BO total more dependent on China.

There is never a 'at least', we wont know what's up in other countries...

Wait and see = less 'discussions' all around about a theme that got discussed way too much for....:

we do not have final numbers.

lets discuss those, when available

I don't see it hitting $400m  I think $370-80m is more likely.    AM also likely bigger US share so higher ancillaries.  Higher ancillaries from OS as well since it over performed Shazam! minus China as well.

WB does not hold back on marketing $, whether one thinks they used it well or not.

This site just turns into the worst whenever a new funnybook movie drops.

I said I was gonna leave for a while because of exams, but I stayed on for some reason, but I guess I really should be revising instead of reading through page after page of absolute garbage.

Ant-Man made 105 million in China. Shazamn 40 million. Its the market where the studio get the smallest percentage back.

There’s other parts of the forum that isn’t contaminated by the funnybook looneys, The Classic Conversational thread is still great, there is a group chat apparently and there’s other subforums. I have found such great joy in CAYOM for instance.

Besides, this is still the best place to talk about box office and although it never used to be this toxic, still is the least toxic place to discuss box office.
