The Calm Before The Storm Weekend Thread: Estimates - Curse Of LaLlorona $26.51M | Shazam $17.34M | Breakthrough 11.0M | CM $9.10M

Recommended Posts

not understanding how La Llorona made such a big Thurs #

more power to those who do understand it.

Tracking should have penciled in a comparable number under 2M

Do horror movies beat tracking by playing like an animated kids movie at nighttime?

Did the market run away with La Llorona on Thursday night boosting it to 2.75/10M+ Friday?

Is this why they call a breakout a breakout?  Breaking beyond market comparisons?

Why did the Ouija movies both open under 20M?

6.3 Fri for SHAZAM is too good to be true.

Would give it 17 weekend conservatively,

6.3 (+147%)

6.55 (+4%)

4.2 (-36%)

= 17.05 (-30%)

I think Friday will end up mid-high 5's for 15-16 weekend.

6.3 Friday to a 15.7 weekend?

I know Good Friday is inflated and all, but that should lead to more than 15.7, right?

Sounds about right. At most it'll stay flat (and more likely decrease) tomorrow.

Men in Black International: 30-50 range. 39/107

Shaft: 25-40 range. 31/100

Avengers: Endgame: 270-300+/660-730+ (that's literally how it's typed out lmao)

Godzilla: 54 (+13%)/144 (+11%)

Yeh horror quite often beats tracking.

$9m budget for Curse, so not the earlier reported $15m.

$9.1m is a solid number, maybe it’ll increase through the night.

Also; hopefully RTH is here next weekend 😂😂

I wouldn’t be surprised if Deadline gave us 5 different End Game Friday numbers by the time 10am hits 😂

Also: Disney, STOP with these nature documentaries, no one ever goes to see them.

Breakthrough missing its tracking too.

I wonder if the Disneynature docs will end up on Disney+ service from now on with perhaps a limited release beforehand. I think perhaps it'll done in conjunction with Nat Geo.

I could see them as special one day releases for Earth day...and then dropped onto Disney+...that's probably all they'd need for the size of the audience...
