And to think I thought the 140s-ish projection earlier was unbeliveable... 

 

I honestly think I would be even more astounded to see Endgame break the $300 million barrier than I was when the first Avengers was the first to cross $200 million in a weekend. I really didn't think that the realistic weekend ceiling was that much higher than Infinity War opened last year. Either way, though, as someone who remembers staring at Spider-Man's $114.8 million weekend in slack-jawed disbelief, I really should have accepted by now that the weekend record is just going to keep on climbing to heights I would once have thought laughable.

The spillover will be insane. Black Panther's record is in play but I'm thinking $35+ for now. That's largely unfounded though, because I still have no clue what Sunday is going to look like.

This is hilarious.  The Sunday morning 10:40 am A:EG show at my local theater is already sold out.  

 

Why am I obsessed with this??

For whatever anecdotal evidence might be worth, a couple Monday showings in my area are already sold out. I'm not going to be too bullish because it's a school/work day, but I'm sure we're still in for something huge.

I couldn't go to Saturday 815am showing so I had to pick the 850am which was 90% booked. All of the other shows were sold out at the theater til midnight. Mind you Infinity War there had zero sellouts on Saturday and was maybe 70% full (saw it on first Saturday as well surprisedly, same theater)

A 14-screen theater near me has Endgame playing on 10 screens. It can probably keep all of those next week, but on the 10th, with Pikachu probably getting two screens, and Poms, The Hustle, Long Shot, The Intruder and Ugly Dolls also likely getting a screen, Endgame's probalby going to have its screens cut in half. Maybe one or two of the other movies can share with Endgame, but that's still a lot of lost screens lost.

Endgame will also lose the PLFs, it'll likely share some with Pikachu and John Wick but I suspect Disney will want Aladdin to have those screens so they'll put their shiny new film in those formats and keep Endgame in the regular formats.

when a big movie gets an A+, you know something out of the ordinary is happening.

 

I try to to be reasonable tho, it s summer time, bigger competition  than in December, the movie is burning enormous demand
