Endgame really altered some trajectories. They had big theater drops but still shocked by how badly Us and Pet Sematary were destroyed. The latter will miss $55M and the former will not outgross Get Out.

I have been following box office for almost 15 years now. I've seen some crazy stuff. But NOTHING even remotely compares to just how absolutely and unquestionably insane these numbers are. I didn't dream of this happening for at least another 10 to 20 years. What a time to be a box office fan. 

 

Also, if Deadline's 157 is in the ballpark, I guarantee it's announced as $160 million in the morning. If there's any movie to somehow make $100 million on a true Friday, this is it.

As a person who is NOT a Marvel stan and feels literally zero emotional attachment to what is going on (aside from Holy Mother of God), I feel I can get away with some shit stirring.

 

Is this the most impressive box office performance since Titanic's fourteen week reign at #1?

 

Or is it even more impressive all things considered?

 

To me, I never ever thought I would see something more impressive than that.

 

Until today.

 

I'm honestly not sure which is more impressive, as they're impressive in very different ways.  But that I'm even thinking that the only thing that comes close to this is... Well, I'd like to see some opinions on this.  Might help sharpen my thinking on this.

We should wait till Saturday at least. If get something like what's happening in Australia were the weekend has been flat since OD we will likely have some idea on what the theoretical max is.

In all seriousness.....GOOOD LORRRD THIS MOVIE ROCKED ME TO MY CORE. I felt so many emotions, excitement, sadness, anger, joy, entertainment. My legs were shaking. I WAS AT A BRINK OF AN ORGASM AT ONE POINT I SWEAR and I was crying my eyes out at several. But also I was laughing so hard at so many parts. So many tears from this movie, of amusement, joy, sadness. This movie ruined me but luckily I will gladly be ruined again!
