we will see in few months,.... ROTJ and ROTS both were up from second part.... can't see TROTS doing 650 DOM and ONLY 350 OS,
I would love to see your math behind this logic that it will not even do 1b WW

M.

I love that "logical", so, because these two movies increased on the previous one (despite the fact that both were sold as the FINAL SW MOVIE EVAH!!!!), so, SW9 is locked to do the same? Yeah, it surely makes a lot of sense.

SW fans are going to have a rude awaking this December on the same way DC fans witnessed with JL.

Sure, it beat Titanic (in 2 weeks, an amazing feat) but we can’t sell titanic short as “a movie endgame could beat in 10 days”. The thing came out 22 years ago with inflation sending it to a level Endgame will not reach.

Both films had/have spectacular runs going for them. Just goes to show that every box office record will eventually fall due to inflation.

Russo brother did great with both finale avengers, (Winter Soldier in particular) but they are no way near the legendary director like martin scorsese,  hitchcock, nolan, tarantino, fellini, ang lee, clint eastwood, steven spildberg hayao miyazaki, akira, coen brothers and of course james cameron.

All those director carry a standalone film themselves.

Russo brother would need  to prove it with their solo, standalone critical and commercial success outside of marvel brand to show they earned it , IW and EG back to back success should be viewed as more like a Marvel Studio success.

Agreed. This is not Highlander. There can be more than one box office legend.

I'm sad about this beating Titanic and Avatar, but we are in the era of the cbm and sequels. Long are the days where an original movie broke records. It is what it is

it hasn't beaten Avatar.

Avatar = $2.78B

Endgame = $2.18B
