I saw Poms today. I've seen over 60 movies so far this calendar year in theaters, and Poms is a *strong* contender for the worst. At best, it is an empty suit, devoid of any intellectual, emotional, or spiritual depth. The script is lighter than a feather, it's amazing anyone got paid by a studio for it.

At worst, it's embarrassing. There's zero reason to feel attached to any of the characters or situations. And the cheerleading sequences are a cringe-worthy, I had to avert my eyes out of sympathy with the actors who were doing their game-best to do as instructed.

The producers assembled some reasonably big names, their talents are completely wasted here. And no, it's not my male perspective, because my wife saw it with me and she wrote most of this review, LOL.

It isn't particularly clever or new. But I took my mum and auntie to it for mother's day and they both loved it. Maybe it was second-hand enjoyment from them but I found myself having a pretty decent time with it.
