Talking of Endgame, Why are people comparing it to Infinity War?
Infinity War opened 100m less than Endgame.
This is a superhero movie not a cultural event like Force Awakens.

When a movie opens as high as 357M OW, of course there would be high expectation.

11 years of building up, 22 movies. It is a cultural event to the MCU fans, just like how TFA was to the Star Wars fans.

EG won't match TFA DOM but is gonna make something like 600M+ more globally. What are you talking about? It's a cultural event, it's a global event, it's the definition of each at box office.

I was talking domestic. I know endgame is huge overseas.

It will be #2 domestic easily, just because it doesn't beat TFA doesn't mean it isn't a cultural event, it's opening alone proves that it is a domestic cultural event because people were that hyped to see it immediately

It's a cultural event DOM too. Just as Force Awakens, Last Jedi, Black Panther, Infinity War, Dark Knight, Avengers, Avatar, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc. were cultural events DOM.

Not to get side tracked but the build up of SFA was incredible, far exceeding EG. Phantom Menace was very mediocre and did adjusted 800+ DOM. SFA delivered and did 936. Last Jedi wasn't as good but better than PM yet plummeted to 620 (still awesome BTW but a 315m drop).

Same here. People are acting like it's a foregone conclusion that it will perform worse than IW for the final run. It's possible sure but IW fell off a cliff hard, especially in June.
