So how does JW3's international release compares to JW2?

Looking at those top 10 markets, the increases are pretty significant, some around 50% higher than JW2's opening, with others (like Mexico) pretty much outgrossing or match JW2's entire gross.

But it's also a bit different since places like Australia got JW2 so late, three months after release. With markets like France, Germany, and South Korea to go, I'm guessing somewhere around 120m is the target? Hard to say since there's lot of competition that will hurt JW3 in other territories more than it would here.

Well social media today makes it easier to exert peer pressure to a wider audience. These days it’s easier for someone in California to influence someone in New York and so on.  There weren’t that many outlets available 15-20 years ago to have the same effect.

Even the term “social influencer” didn’t really exist 5-10 years ago.

To your surprise communist jugoslavia was a place where we watched john caropnters the thing or alien when we were 6... conan predator star wars terminator batman indiana jones bttf... cultural phenomenons all... we wathched my girl and little mermaid while waiting for the abyss.. the goonies and commando helped us build our children forts...batman was badass god!! Joker was his antithesis... porn was playing in theaters, but everyone knew where parents hidd these vhs.. we knew names of all nba players... each celebrity... freddy mercury/guns and roses/metallica/iron maiden/acdc was playing from every second car...and it was communism(softer)... why do i remember this? Because it moved mountains.. it was cultural... it wasnt forced down our throats thru copy paste click seeking media... because noone even tried it.. news outlets cared about their rep as much as we cared about our words.. if i made an appointment a week from now i would keep it... nowadays you can DEPEND on validity of last minute rain check and noone even looks at that with dismay... and if you do, you are the one that is strange... well..back then that wouldnt pass... hermits and outliers were on the bench/fringe... now clicks count the clicks 😕 different times, but people still CAN band together for something that moves mountains(mcu), and reject trillions calculated attemtps that each company, studio and person now is trying... companies need brands, movie studios need franchises and people seek acknowledgment... so social media as easy as it is, putting peer pressure CAN backfire... and imo, WOM still rules, counting decent marketing to subdue the sea of choices^^ TTVOMJ

So endgame has approximately 164 million left to get past Avatar. I'm actually worried now that it won't get past it. I really hope it does but it's fading pretty quickly in every market it seems like.

Let’s just wait and see what the actuals turn out to be tomorrow. Then, we can decide whether it will or won’t top Avatar.

it doesn't matter what the actuals are. Doesn't matter if it goes up by 1 or 2 million or decreases by a little bit. The point is it's eroding much quicker than I thought it would. I thought it would easily get past Avatar now it's going to come down to the wire it looks like.

If it’s down to the wire, I think Disney will work their assess off to get Endgame to pass Avatar, especially if it means keeping it in theaters until Labor Day Weekend.
