Monday Actuals

Aladdin $25.5mn (31.15 29.8 30.4 25.5 : 116.85)

JW 3 $6.35mn

Endgame $5mn

How insane is it that I find that slightly (very slightly) disappointing. $20k more and it would have passed Fast & Furious 6. We really are a fickle bunch, impossible to please I swear.

Endgame

4.25

6.4

6.47 : 17.12

4.98 : 22.1

So Friday was better than Infinity War last year, but the rest a little bit lower. First decent hold since the second weekend for Endgame. Now lets see how it will survive Godzilla and Rocketman next weekend, X-Men and Pets a week later, and MiB4 and Shaft two weeks later, and so on. . .

So $803.4M yesterday for Endgame. Should be around at $808M by Thursday, maybe $816.5M by Sunday (-51% drop next weekend), slightly under $821M by the June 2nd, around $825M after its 7th weekend. Should cross $830 million in mid June. If Spider-Man premiere helps, it will finish with over $840M domestic, but if Disney do some double-features with The Lion King, even $850M is still possible.

What about final international numbers?

According to Deadline the international numbers were slightly higher too, +0.9 million for the weekend, so add that to what's currently on BOM. The number is $16.3 million for the weekend, $1.88 billion overall internationally and $2.684 billion worldwide (including Monday for North America).

I think it's much more likely Disney will do a double-feature with Aladdin to get it close to $300 million (if it's possible) than try to push Endgame further. There's really no benefit to push Endgame further, that extra $5 million (at best, because it would be too late in the film's run to hope for more) would not get it any closer to Avatar worldwide so why even bother, plus a 3-hour superhero extravaganza that's part 22 of an 11 year series is not exactly compatible with something like The Lion King. Aladdin on the other hand is about as compatible as they come, so it's a given that they'll at one point do double-features with those two movies instead.

What's this goofy ass critics talk? It's not like Aladdin was panned. It's 58% RT. Average Rating just under 6.

Glad it clicked with audiences. Glad the box office is blowing up. But, yeah, it's not like it has Revenge of the Fallen reviews.

I think timing is great too. Has the nostalgia factor, has the family film PG factor and it's a decent flick. Endgame, Pika and Wick are all straight up or quasi superhero flicks. Nice for families to have something else to turn to...

Wow!  Aladdin just keeps coming in higher than they estimate.  Fantastic!

Scroll further down, but basically it's this

Quote

With a further $16.3M, Disney/Marvel’s Endgame brings its cume to $1.88Binternationally and $2.684B worldwide.

PIKA had a 42 global weekend for 358 cume:

24.7 os weekend for 238 cume

17.3 4-day dom weekend for 120 cume

45 more os + 25 more dom = 70 more for close to 430 ww looks like the least it should do

450 ww is tough but can't ruled out.

100M to reach Avatar WW... It will be extremely hard to get there unless some good holds next weekend or Disney cares to push it for the record.

if not, Add 40-45M from DOM market, and 40M from OS = 15M short of the record!!!!!

To become the highest grossing video game adaptation it needs to make more than $433.7 million (Warcraft), which is reasonable but far from anything resembling a "lock". I too think it will eventually get there, but it will have to do it fast because once Pets 2 and Toy Story 4 hit theaters it will be all over for Pika-Pika.

If it's close enough to Avatar by the time TLK hits then I can see Disney pulling double features for Endgame otherwise yeah Aladdin will most likely get it seeing as it'll probably play really well into the Summer. $700M+ WW looks like a very good target.
