Wow... takes all kinds I guess. Action doesn’t come any better than MI and I can’t think of a single Bond film that’s better than an MI film. The last movie was arguably the greatest action film ever made, and many critics agreed.

I'm certainly not alone. The MI movies have done OK, but none have sniffed a 100M OW or 250M domestic. There's a core audience they appeal to. I'm just not in it.

-edit

The two Bond films I like that have good action are Casino Royale and Skyfall. I'd take either of any of the MI films, which I have viewed despite not liking.

It's better if they also won't focus on Godzilla's international numbers. Not pretty to look at right now.

Those numbers are pretty good. Don't reserve to yourself only reading opinions on this silly forum.

Wow, I really believe you now.

It opened well below K:SI if you factor in K:SI's opening didn't include China or Japan. Also during the week the trades were saying "Godzilla is headed for a $230M global bow"...nope, try $51M less than that.

Skyfall is better than all of the MI movies and the Bourne trilogy is the best action spy movies ever made.

It flopped in many OS markets and underwhelmed in some. Only good ones are China and Japan. So tell us, how is that "pretty good"?

Expect unusual Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday numbers including the weekends across North America, Europe, and Asia.

It's the Muslim celebratory party called Eid-ul Fitr. It begins on Tuesday and ends Thursday and passes onto the weekend. But expect unusual numbers For Godzilla, Aladdin, JW3 and Endgame everyone on the box office will benefit. We could witness tuesday to thursday like weekend days or perhaps Tuesday to thursday on steroids.

This coming tuesday to thursday might be the best gift to Endgame and a life-line

The numbers will be boosted.

It might not be over exaggerated rise but it will boost the Box office significantly

Godzilla is a niche. It's not something that appeals to the masses. Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra's inclusion helps the epicness but how many truly have nostalgia for the movies from the 60's and 70's? The marketing for G14 was amazing. The Oppenheimer teaser was chilling and mesmerizing and created an intrigue. This was an intrigue that brought people to the theater but didn't keep them coming (hence the very low multiplier).

Kong may help the next one to do better though since Kong is MUCH more of a household name than Godzilla and has wider appeal.

Can you cite times where it has actually boosted the box office? I highly doubt it affects at all.

Okay. Here this is last year. It happened on june 15th to 17th. I used google to find the dates.

There is a leggy boost even for Solo in it's 4th week and the same with Deadpool 2 in it's 5th week with Incredibles 2 being the biggest winner as that day was it's opening day and being family friendly movie helped.

You can keep track of this by using google to find the Eid dates and then search for the box office of these days both international and DOM. You will see increase not that exaggerated but significiant

Darling, no one likes your shitty American Kaiju movie.

Japan seems to lol.

That's been the one source of consolation in all this.
