Flop Weekend Thread: Top 5 Weekend Actuals - TSLOP2 $46.65M | Dark Phoenix $32.83M | Aladdin $24.68M | Godzilla KOTM $15.45M | Rocketman $13.82M

Recommended Posts

SLOP2

2.3

14.2

18.5 (+30%)

13.9 (-25%)

= 48.9

A little over-performance on Sat would keep 50 alive. KOTM bumped 22.5% from true Fri so 30%+ can't be ruled out for SLOP2.

God I wish it wasn’t summer now, Aladdin would literally be in a good spot to beat DP this weekend with normal non-summer sat jumps for family films.

DARKP + KOTM + SLOP2 = 75 + 100 + 150 = 325

ALADDIN has an outside shot at matching that.

I don’t even remember SLOP opening to 104 million.  I thought it opened to around 80.

It’s Illuminations highest grosser and second only to Shrek 2 outside of the mouse house. It was completely massive DOM, I think a lot of people forget.

Superhero fatigue? FFH 6 day under $150m next?

Sure...

B/c a movie drafting off a 2.7B+ movie and the $2B+ movie before that with a previous well reviewed $334m movie is applicable to an oft delayed  film with bad reviews coming off a $155m film with mediocre reviews which fell off a third from the previous X-Men film.

Holy shit this weekend sucks. Pretty awful when they only good news is a Disney movie doing well

I personally expected stronger holds from John Wick and Rocketman, especially if the newcomers were going to underperform the way they are. Hopefully next weekend is better for Men In Black and Shaft.
