Brutal drop for the detective.

Great for Aladdin.

Yeah, that almost 1200 theater drop will be brutal for Pikachu this weekend. $150M is offically dead.

EG theater counts dropping a full week ahead of what IW did and it's numbers are worse than the following week. DOM probably has 10m left.

And?? Its not news but you must comment everyday as if you have a goal?? If EG was at 600m we could weep but instead of being excited about its gross we are griping that its not holding enough theaters??

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The negativity about films seems to have taken a new spin this summer starting with Godzilla and spreading.

Eat a Snickers. It was a comment on the screen count which is unfair given its PTA

You responded to positive comment with a butthurt one.

No theater drop for Dark Phoenix? How is that possible, given the fact that it's flopping badly?

It's just it's second weekends, most of the time theatres are required to play it for two full weeks before they can drop it and the whole market place is really bad so why drop it?

2 week guarantee - not sure if premium screens are part of this.

3rd weekend theatre drop could be fugly.

Most movies have a 2 weekend cushion before losing theaters on their 3rd weekend.

DP is likely finishing 142 million DOM which I think is good and WW it'll probably get to $430 maybe. Yet people still want to say it's a flop when you got Godzilla numbers staring at you in the face.

142 dom even though it will only be 1m away from that by the end of this weekend? Say what?

This is based on how many theaters it's losing. It could get to $145M DOM. We shall see. I'm not sure how many more weeks it'll be in theaters, usually movies leave theaters after around 1.5/2 months and with how packed this summer is...no movie is staying from April/May all the way till July.

Overall though DP performed solid, for how much it had going against it. The sequel will do hella good in a better slot, and it won't have it's energy sucked away by a movie. Cause no movie released in the next ten years IMO will be as big as EG was.

Also this is completely unrelated but I'm shocked the movie is still making money...considering it leaked online in Blu Ray quality thanks to Korea before last weekend.
