I don't think we give Charlie enough credit. He is quite accurate most of the time, and he takes the time to give us early numbers and to share revisions with us when necessary. He could pick and choose when to give us numbers, so as to be 100% spot on all the time, but he takes the time to give us numbers frequently and often daily. This is far more than anyone with access to numbers has ever done for us.

On days when Charlie doesn't give us numbers, I realize just how for-granted we all take his contributions and how much the box office discussion often stalls as a result. I am thankful that he takes the time to share data with us.

Peace,

Mike

FRIDAY PM Writethru after 1:17PM update: In its fourth day of release, Spider-Man: Far From Home has minted its second-best day yet with $32M, way up from the $26.5M we were seeing earlier. Friday jumped 27% over July 4 with a four-day running total now at $122.85M for the Sony release.  3-day is now projected between $83.5M-$90M putting the 6-day opening between $176M-$182M at 4,634 theaters. That’s far ahead of the $154.1M that Spider-Man: Homecoming cleared in its first six days, and that pic didn’t have the help of July 4 (which isn’t always a kind holiday at the B.O.). Far From Home is cheaper then its previous chapter with $160M-$165M prior to worldwide P&A. Homecoming cost $175M and churned a profit after all ancillaries of $200.1M.

FFh I had been going with 32m few hours ago , TS4 11.4, Yesterday 3.4

Fantastic for TS4. I came here from Fantasy League just because of TS4.

RDJ cost $10m

Tom Holland even after so much fame wouldn't cost more than 3-4M and that's also bit exaggerated.

Guess we need to overreact in the other direction now. RIP CW worldwide.

I don't think civil war is going down.

I see 740M os and 360m NA. It may come closer to Captain Marvel.
