John Wick: Chapter 2
February 10th, 2017, 12:15 PM, 30% full
Park Place Stadium Cinemas | Charleston, WV

Weird trailer allotment yesterday...

Trailers:
The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature - Some laughter.
The Zookeeper's Wife - No reactions.
The Great Wall - No reactions.
Dunkirk - No reactions.
Kong: Skull Island - Good reactions and laughter to John C. Reilly's character. Positive reaction to Kong beating his chest, some imitations from the crowd (myself included).

Overall, I think people enjoyed the movie. A few made remarks about how they hoped there would be another one.

Silence

February 4th 2017, 2:20 PM, about 60% Full

Arclight Bethesda MD

Trailers:

Julieta

The Lost City of Z

Ghost in the Shell

There wasn't really any reactions besides some laughs and some gasps during the more disturbing scenes. When people walked out I heard some people say they liked it but it wasn't one of Martins best films.

Damn, on that day I was considering seeing Silence at that exact theater and exact time but couldn't convince my parents to take the 40 minute drive or so to see it.  Would've been interesting to have the exact same crowd report as another member on here.

Wow that's interesting. That would have been really cool. Yeah, this was the only theater that was playing it within twenty miles. It was about a thirty minute drive to get there. I live in Virginia by the way.

The LEGO Batman Movie

February 11, 9:45 PM, 10% full

Carbondale 8, Carbondale, IL

Trailers

Power Rangers

The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature - some laughs

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Despicable Me 3

The Emoji Movie

Gifted

The LEGO Ninjago Movie

Pretty solid laughter throughout, one line relating to

Robin's civilian name

got the whole audience laughing for 20 seconds (legitimately, could not hear bits of dialogue.) People behind me were saying really dumb shit throughout it, it was annoying, but hey, I still enjoyed the movie!

Laughs at appropriate times. Standard stuff for the rest. People seemed to like it.

Fucking glad Gold came out though. I was getting really sick of that trailer. Did not like it the first time, goddamn hated it by the fifth or whatever it ended up being.

The Lego Batman Movie in Dolby Atmos

February 12, 7:00 PM, 85% full

Alamo Drafthouse One Loudoun, VA

Trailers:

Despicable Me 3 (Laughs)

Beauty and the Beast (Murmurs)

Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 (Laughs)

Im honestly suprised there wasn't a Lego Ninjago trailer. Im also suprised about the Guardians trailer playing, especially with the part at the end of the trailer. The audience seemed to love it. They all laughed out loud throughout the whole thing including me. I heard audiences members say they enjoyed it when they walked out.

The Great Wall - 3D
February 16th, 2017, 9:15 PM, 40% full
Marquee Cinemas Southridge 12 | Charleston, WV

Trailers:
Logan - No reactions.
Gifted - No reactions.
Power Rangers - No reactions.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales - No reactions.

Bigger crowd than I anticipated. Not as many people went to see John Wick: Chapter 2 the week before. That was a better movie. Not to say this was bad, I just knew that it was going to be a popcorn flick. The room had 100 seats, and almost 40 of them were filled.

That being said, one guy commented about how it was "an hour he wouldn't get back." Nobody seemed to be excited once the credits rolled. I liked it, but I understand why some people didn't. It's a popcorn flick, and nothing more.
