You should have snatched his phone and threw it to the front of the theater.

The Pointe 14, Wilmington, NC

Trailers

Death Wish

(My dad was trying to think of what this reminded him of until the title came up.)

Tomb Raider

(My dad said it wasn't the same without Jolie, but towards the end, he had some reactions to the stunts, and he laughed at the "I'll take two" bit.)

Pacific Rim: Uprising

(My dad thought this was Transformers at first.)

The Commuter

(I don't remember if my dad reacted to this one at all. Perhaps he was invested in the concept.)

Some laughter at appropriate parts. Limited amounts of murmurs and rustling.

My Little Pony: The Movie

October 17, 1:50 PM

Trailers:

Daddy's Home 2 (no interest)

The Star (this just looks so bizarre, I have to see it sometime)

The Man Who Invented Christmas (might be slightly interested, but not enough to see it in theaters)

Ferdinand (the latest trailer, with clips of John Cena narrating. REALLY hoping this is better than this trailer makes it look)

Coco (looks alright, but still just seems like a more mainstream version of The Book Of Life)

Paddington 2 (I loved the first one, so hopefully this one doesn't disappoint)

It was just me and a mom with her daughter. She seemed to like it, and I admit that I absolutely adored this movie. Easily my favorite animated movie of the year so far. And I've only seen a single episode of the show!

Cinemark

Trailers: arrived late so missed most of it

80% of Justice League (laughs)

Jigsaw

Murmurs and laughter during several scenes. The guy next to me said he had to take some business calls and actually answered the phone in the theater before he made the wise decision to leave. Same guy called the movie trash at the end. Someone in my group fell asleep midway. Whole theater seemed relieved when it ended.

The Florida Project

October 22, 1:30 PM, 40% full

The Charles Theatre, Baltimore, MD

Trailers:

Lady Bird (laughs)

Wonder Wheel (concerned murmurs at Woody Allen's name)

Laughs throughout the movie at appropriate moments but it pretty much always came from the same people.  One moment where a few people groaned in disgust at something.  Five people walked out (one senior made a big show about it, loudly yelling "THIS FILM IS TERRIBLE").  Pretty negative reaction to the film by the time it was over.
