The audience was very mixed on this. Although there were plenty of laughs throughout, the last third of this movie definitely split the theater. Word on the way out was very mixed, and there was one walkout about halfway into the film. Only me and a few other people stayed for the mid-credits scene, which got laughs.

Dead silent. About an hour into the movie some old lady walked in and sat in the front row for about 20 minutes and then left. Not sure what it is with old people doing this at the movies. Thought the movie was great.

Trailers:

Happy Death Day 2 U

Us

Alita: Battle Angel

Any scene with Hedwig got huge laughs from all of the audience. Gasps and "OMG's" at the twists and "aww's" during one scene towards the end. Lots of chattering when it was over, but couldn't hear if it was positive or negative. I loved it, but it's going to be divide people.

Alita: Battle Angel

1:25 PM

About 60% full

DBOX! Unsurprisingly, I was the only one in the section. Actually, I wasn't. I write these ahead of time so it was a nice surprise to see like 5 people in the row in front of me. One dude occasionally looked at his voicemail. Dude, you probably paid 20$ for that seat when I paid 4$, get off your phone!

TRAILERS:

MIB International and they pixellated Neeson's face i'm kidding. Some murmurs.

Hellboy - Some dude behind me went "Noooooo!" and I think there was some confusion.

Us - This is the biggest reaction I have ever seen from a trailer. People LOST it at the end when it finished, lots of buzz.

Captain Marvel - "A cat!"

Tolkien - No response.

A few chuckles at some things. I think people were engaged.

Most of the audience was laughing throughout the film. I didn't expect it to be quite as humorous as it was. Some of the more violent scenes got a couple of gasps. I heard a lot of positive comments from people leaving. I really enjoyed it as well.

Stan & Ollie

2/13 12:10 PM. Me and 1 other person.

Alita: Battle Angel

February 15th, 7:05 PM, 50-60% full

The Pointe Theater 16

This was my dad's birthday, and to celebrate, we went to the movies. He likes action and science fiction, so it's no surprise that this is what we went to see. Granted, I had to put my foot down a tiny bit. But really. What other options did we have?

Trailers

Uglydolls (my dad noticed that all of the faces of the characters remained the same throughout the film; I told hin that it was a limitation of 3D animation)

Dark Phoenix (the most silent reaction)

Shazam

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (honestly, I was on the verge of tears watching this trailer)

Captain Marvel

This film was very reactionary, with many "ooh"s and "aah"s. A lot of laughs, too. Excitement and clapping during the bar scene.

After the film, two young boys were raving about what they'd just seen. You know how children might react to something like a new Star Wars, where they talk endlessly about the cool things they'd witnessed? That's how they reacted to this.

Meanwhile, a small group of elderly folks were conversing about the film; one old man was expressing that he had been rooting for Alita to achieve her goal. They said that they loved the visuals.

We were leaving the theater, and I asked my sister what she thought of it. She's someone who dislikes Avatar and someone who normally finds herself not caring for the films that I typically recommend. She had also gone into this film blind. She said, "that was much better than I thought it would be."

I think this is the type of film that brings people together. It's one that unites the people in the theaters.
