Lol Disney do it every time a new film opens.

That Cinderella one was the most blatant. Wait Wrinkle in Time was probably their most obvious fudge😂😂

Every studio does this with Double Features.  Sony just did it with MIBI when SM opened.

Fudging is Paramount pretending Transformers 4 opened to $100m when every B.O. expert was saying $97m.

Fudging is when Paramount in reporting O/S grosses kept pretending Venezuela's currency and exchange rates were what they were before the biggest latest collapse (before this last one) while every other studio was reporting a fraction of the revenue with far better performing films.

@Charlie Jatinder:

Thanks for dedicating a whole bunch of time and work to provide a bunch of strangers/nerds insider box office data and projections. You go above and beyond, and I am really appreciative.

I also understand that early projections are just that, and I can’t imagine how difficult it is to project so early in the day on opening day with pre-sales complicating things, so few comparisons when the numbers are so big for a family film, etc. So cheers to you.

Peace,

Mike

Still don't know what the Sat jump will be or the Tue number for that matter (what @TwoMisfits termed Family Opening Day [or something like that], IIRC).

Also, this IS a known quality and it's not like there will be a rush to see it to avoid spoilers.  There is a decent argument to be made that this doesn't have a rush factor at all.  Frankly we don't know what the legs of this film will be yet nor how the GA will react.

Plenty of time for this film to rake in silly amounts of cash.

Yep, Tuesday is family opening day:).  I will say, looking at my Cinemark already having prime Tuesday night showings sold out for almost every movie, this Tuesday will be very profitable for TLK (since it has 1/2 those prime slots)...and probably the holdovers again, too:)...
