You're right, but people in the thread earlier were hemming and hawing that the internal multi would be worse than Beauty and that would spell doom for its legs. The Sunday hold for Lion King is excellent no matter what.

Both estimates and actuals for any given weekday will not be reported until the next day. Therefore, Monday numbers will not be reported until Tuesday. Tuesday numbers will not be reported until Wednesday. Etc.

 

This is the same for Fridays and Saturdays for weekend grosses (Friday estimates will be reported on Saturday, and Saturday estimates will be reported on Sunday). Sundays are the only day of the week where studios will project their own estimated grosses for the Sunday that same day (i.e. on Sunday) in order to report estimated weekend grosses for the films. Then on Monday, as we are seeing now, studios will report actual final grosses for the Friday/Saturday/Sunday and weekend.

The internal multiplier is quite similar to Incredibles 2 (previews to OD ratio aside), which increased 12% on Saturday from true Friday and then dropped 11% on Sunday (slightly inflated by Father's Day).

Excellent start for TLK and a great Sunday hold.  So it is 9th fastest to 100M, 8th fastest to 150M.  Will become the 8th fastest to 200M (behind BP, ahead of I2) today. Will likely be 7th fastest to 250M  (behind JW, ahead of TA) on Wed. Should hit 300M on day 8.

 

Big increase for TS4. That gives a 13.5M cushion over TS3. Will be over 390 by next Sunday and might be close to 395.
